How do I set up the desktop agent?

Download the desktop agent from awaycodeapp.com and sign in with your account. Make sure Claude Code and tmux are installed on your computer (brew install tmux on macOS). Once signed in, launch sessions directly from the mobile app.

Do I need to configure IP addresses or ports?

No! awaycode handles connection automatically. Just sign in with the same account on both your desktop agent and mobile app, and they'll find each other.

Can I use awaycode away from home?

Yes! As long as your desktop agent is running and connected to the internet, you can send commands from anywhere. Your phone doesn't need to be on the same network.

Is my code secure?

Your code never leaves your machine. Commands are sent to your desktop where Claude Code executes them locally. We use secure authentication to ensure only you can access your agent.

What if my desktop goes to sleep?

The agent needs your computer to be awake and running. We recommend adjusting your power settings to prevent sleep while the agent is active, or using a tool like Amphetamine (macOS) to keep it awake.
